Veterans Shiloh McCool and Meg Burns combined for 36 points to help Nebraska-Kearney breeze by Lincoln, 84-66, Saturday afternoon in Jefferson City, Mo.

The Lopers (18-7, 12-7) sweep the season from the Blue Tigers (6-18, 2-11) who are leaving the league at the end of this academic year.

After a career-high 29-points Thursday at Central Missouri, McCool (Pleasant Hill, Ia.) had 10 points in the opening quarter thanks to 4 for 4 shooting and a 2 of 2 effort at the line. With today's tally of a game-high 23 points, she now ranks 12th on the UNK career scoring list (1,421). She passed former teammate Brooke Carlson (1,410) and UNK Hall of Famer Beth Swift (1,1414) on the day.

In beating Lincon for the 14th consecutive time, UNK never trailed as it got out to a 24-11 first quarter lead and never looked back. The Lopers tallied 23 points off turnovers, were plus 12 in bench points and were a solid plus 13 on the glass. Burns (Ankeny, Ia.) knocked down three triples and went 4 of 4 at the line to reach her 13-point total. Overall, 12 Lopers took to the court with 10 getting into the scoring column. Off the bench, UNK got nine points from Fremont sophomore Macy Bryant with Missouri senior Lexi Moes having seven points and two o-boards.

Lincoln was paced by starters Miram Bazylewicz (20 points) and Ashly Alloway (16 points, three boards).

The Lopers hosts Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern next weekend to close out the 2023-24 home slate.
