Nebraska State Patrol

June 10, 2026 (Lincoln, Neb.)  — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol removed 65 impaired drivers from the road during the annual Make It Click campaign surrounding Memorial Day weekend. The effort ran from May 15 through June 1.

“The summer travel season is officially underway, and roadways will be busy across the state,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “While our troopers are constantly on patrol to keep Nebraska roads safe, teamwork is paramount with the motoring public as well. Always drive safe and drive sober.”

In addition to the 65 arrests for impaired driving, troopers also issued citations for speeding (1,616), including 47 citations for speeding at over 100 miles per hour, along with no seat belt (80), improper child restraint (23), open alcohol container (53), minor in possession (23), driving under suspension (85), and failure to move over (11). Troopers also performed 317 motorist assists during the campaign.

The Make It Click campaign is a nationwide effort involving numerous police agencies. Nebraska's portion of this effort was made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation - Highway Safety Office.
