Preliminary News Release: Fatal Crash - Buffalo County

The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of an adult female driver. The crash was reported at approximately 5:52 AM on Friday, November 19, 2024.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2005 Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on 340th Rd near Hawk Rd, north of Pleasanton, NE.  The vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.  The driver of the vehicle, identified as Elizabeth Michelle Elder, 30, of Ravenna, Nebraska, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the Kearney/Buffalo County Fatality Accident Investigation Team (FAIT), Pleasanton Volunteer Fire Department, CHI Good Samaritan Hospital Paramedics, Air Care, Buffalo County Highway Department, and the Buffalo County Attorney's Office.

Next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
