Police Investigating Semi Thefts
Grand Island Police are investigating a string of semi thefts over the weekend.
According to the Grand Island police report at least two suspects entered an unsecured parking lot at 1515 East Fourth Street sometime between Friday and Saturday and stole two unsecured semi-tractors with the keys left in them.
One trailer contained more than $232,000 worth of beef from JBS.
The suspects then used the stolen semis at Midwest Express where they stole two unsecured refrigerated semi-trailers fully loaded with an unknown amount of meat using the two semi-tractors stolen from the East Fourth Street location.
Three of the four trailers have since been recovered, but were empty.
