Northwest Hoops Set To Host Adams Central

(Grand Island, NE) - Old man winter has thrown curveball after curveball the last couple of weeks for high school athletics. When it comes to the Northwest Vikings they have lost three games since the girls played at Lakeview winning 35-29 on January 5th. The Northwest boy's last action was a win at Lakeview 49-45 on the 5th of January but then fell at York 65-56 on Saturday, January 6th. Since then it's been three straight postponements with dates vs Hastings St Cecilia, Adams Central, and North Platte. As of today (Jan. 17th), Northwest will have a makeup date with Adams Central on Thursday, January 18th. The makeup date with St Cecilia will be on February 6th. At this time a date has not been determined for the North Platte games.  

The Northwest girls come into Thursday's matchup with Adams Central with a record of 7-5. Adams Central is 10-2. Adams Central was able to get a game in on Tuesday, January 16th defeating Ord 56-40. After Northwest, the Patriots will have a big matchup at Grand Island Central Catholic (12-1) on Saturday, January 20th. 

The Northwest boys will be searching for their fourth win of the year entering the matchup with Adams Central at 3-8. Adams Central comes in with a record of 9-3. The Patriots defeated Ord on Tuesday night 58-43.
