Northwest Girls Set To Tip Off 2024-2025 Season
(Grand Island, NE) - After a district runner-up finish the last two seasons and a 12-13 record last year, third-year head coach Derek Lindsey and the Northwest girl's basketball team look to take another step forward to a place that the Vikings haven't been in a while—a trip to the Class B state basketball tournament. The last time in Lincoln for the black and gold was in 2020 as Northwest lost in a triple overtime thriller to the Crete Cardinals (48-47).
The Vikings have a laundry list of experience returning from last year as four of the five returners are back including seniors Reagan McIntyre (9ppg), Evie Keller (2ppg), juniors, Jolie O'Hara (6ppg), and Laiken Dorsey (6ppg). Fellow senior Daveigha Heikes (2ppg) is also back for the Vikings who played in 23 games last year. Northwest will also have game experience back from Emerson Graves (SO), Izzy Burhman (SR), Halle Rice (SO), Libby Loman (JR), and Allie Nelson (JR).
The Vikings will open up the season on Friday, December 6th hosting Kearney Catholic at 5:30 pm on (103.1 FM) and then host Gretna East on Saturday, December 7th.
