GICC girls headed back to Lincoln


(Crete, NE) - The Central Catholic girls basketball team defeated Louisville on Friday night 38-30 to advance to the girls class C1 state basketball tournament next week in Lincoln. The Crusaders have now made it back to back trips to state as last year GICC made an apperance but fell to Ponca 56-38. This will be the ninth appearance at the state tournament for GICC girls basketball. The Crusaders enter the state field with a 21-2 record. GICC picks up the one seed and will take on eight seed Winnebago, who knocked off number one seed Malcolm Friday night 51-49, in the first round the state C1 tournament on Wednesday, March 3rd at 1:30pm.
