Fire Station 3 Preliminary Design For Reconstruction Approved

City Of Grand Island

During the last budget cycle, the Grand Island City Council approved a preliminary design of what will be a new Fire Station 3 facility.

The cost estimate for the project is $4.5 million and involved the relocation of an existing garage, which took place on the weekend of Feb. 3-4. The City is still in the preliminary design stage of the reconstruction and hired Schemmer Architecture to help design the new fire station.

Once a bid is accepted, the City will tear down the current structure of Fire Station 3 and construct a new facility in the same location at 2310 S. Webb Road. The new facility will not only house more people, but also include additional ambulance service.
