Crusaders Come Back Against Cats

A comeback appeared unlikely for the GICC Softball team on Monday. The Crusaders had struck out in 14 of 17 at bats against St. Paul's Charlee Wegner. But Shaylee Meister's pinch hit double ignited a three run sixth inning and GICC took a 6-1 win on Monday. Anna Tibbetts followed that with a walk. Logan Rainforth crushed a three run home run to give the Crusaders the lead for good. Rainforth added an RBI single in a three run seventh. She was also the winning pitcher, tossing a seven hitter. Wegner ended up taking the loss for St. Paul despited striking out a school record 18. 

GICC hosts Ord on Tuesday in Doniphan. Next coverage of the Crusaders will be September 10th at the Hwy 6 triangular on KRGI. We'll have St. Paul softball Thursday on Country 96 against Milford.
