Creighton Announces Long-Term Contract Extension For Volleyball Coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth
OMAHA, Neb. -- McCormick Endowed Athletic Director Marcus Blossom announced that Creighton University Volleyball head coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth has signed a long-term contract extension. Terms of the new contract will not be disclosed.
Booth has guided the Bluejay Volleyball program to unprecedented heights in her first 21 years as head coach at Creighton, going 470-189. Creighton has won 11 regular-season conference titles, including 10 straight in BIG EAST Conference titles (2014-Present) during her tenure. CU has also won 10 conference tournament crowns, having won the 2012 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in addition to nine of the past 10 BIG EAST Tournaments (2014-18, 2020-Present). Since the start of the 2014 season, CU is 176-13 against BIG EAST foes.
She has led Creighton to 13 NCAA Tournaments, including 12 in a row, and is a three-time National Coach of the Year. Booth is currently serving as President of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and one of 17 members of the AVCA Board of Directors.
Booth's teams have won 17 AVCA Team Academic Awards and featured eight women who have combined to win 10 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America accolades.
