Columbus Downs GISH Baseball

(Grand Island, NE) - The Grand Island Senior High baseball team would fall 7-1 to Columbus on Monday night at Ryder Park. The game would be scoreless until the top of the fourth inning as Columbus would knock a grand slam out of the park off the bat of Kael Forney. The Discovers would tack on one more run in the fifth and two more in the seventh to secure the win. 

Cohen Nelson took the loss for the Islanders on the mound going four innings, allowing four runs, two hits, striking out six, and walking two. Ethan Foley led GI with two hits in his four at-bats. Grand Island wraps up the regular season with a record of 15-8. The next action will be this upcoming Friday and Saturday for the district tournament that is to be announced.
