Central City battles past USP
Central City took advantage of scoring opportunities and played stellar defense in a 5-1 win over Grand Island U-Save Pharmacy on Thursday.
Winning pitcher Conner Erickson went the distance, scattering 11 hits. He also tripled home a run and scored. JP Karr took the loss despite six solid innings.
Keegan Inks singled home courtesy runner Joden Schumacher for U-Save's only run in the fourth inning. Bodie Millan went 3-4 with a double. Nomar Quezada was 2-3 for U-Save.

Grand Island completes a suspended game with Ord at noon today. U-Save will visit Aurora Saturday, making up a pair of rained out games. Coverage begins at 3:15 on 97.3 the Wolf.
The Pro Team Design Juniors beat Central City 8-7. They'll have a game at 1pm Saturday in Aurora.
