Boone Central sweeps St. Paul

The St. Paul Wildcats attempted to head into the Winter Moratorium with wins over Boone Central however the Cardinals didn't let that happen en route to sweeping the Cats in action.

On the Girl's side, Boone Central got off to a fast start outscoring St. Paul 15-5 in the first quarter. Both teams would exchange blows in the 2nd quarter as the Cardinals took a 14-13 second quarter into an 11-point lead at the halftime break 29-18. Boone Central never looked back in the contest outscoring the Cats 25-18 in the final two frames to take the 54-36 win. With the loss the Cats drop to 2-5 and will be back in action at the O'Neill Holiday Tournament squaring off against Class B power Beatrice coming out of the break. Gracie Kelley took home Runza MVP of the game honors with 18 points with 12 of them coming in the first half.

The Boy's game didn't start any better for St. Paul as the home team Cardinals soared to an early 19-0 lead in the first quarter. St Paul got on the board with 6:19 to go in the second quarter and was able to outpace Boone Central 10-7 going into the break 26-10. The Cards improve to 5-3 with the 50-27 victory taking the final two quarters 24-17. Levi Bader took home Runza MVP with with a solid 6 points off the bench for the Cats.

Next action on the KRGI Sports Network will be in the new year 1/4 at Aurora and 1/5 at Sandy Creek on Country 96.
