Nebraska offensive tackle Bryce Benhart was tabbed to the 2024 Outland Trophy Award Watch List on Tuesday.
Benhardt, a 6-foot-9, 315-pound senior from Lakeville, Minn., earns a spot on the watch list for the first time in his career after earning All-Big Ten honors from both the coaches and media in 2023.
His play helped Nebraska rank second in the Big Ten in rushing offense at 176.8 yards per game despite the Huskers starting three different quarterbacks and four running backs because of injuries. Benhart was the only Husker to start all 12 games on offense during the 2023 campaign. For his career, he has made 41 career starts, all at right tackle, and has tied the school record for most career starts by a Husker lineman.
Benhart will look to add to Nebraska’s impressive legacy, as the Huskers have had a nation-leading nine Outland Trophies, including six from Husker offensive linemen. Benhart is one of 75 members on the preseason list, including 13 from the Big Ten.
The recipient of the 2024 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Dec. 12, 2024. The official presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, on Jan. 22, 2025.
