Grand Island, Neb. — The Hall County Attorney's Office has filed additional charges against two Grand Island men in connection with the July 5 assault that resulted in the death of 41-year-old Matthew Bishop of Grand Island.

Angel G. Vega (23) is now charged with:
First Degree Assault, a Class II felony (previously filed)

The additional charges were filed following a careful review of enhanced video evidence from the incident. The enhancement was completed by the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC), whose work provided investigators and prosecutors with a significantly clearer view of the events that occurred on July 5.
Following the review of the evidence, prosecutors determined there was no evidence to establish that the defendants intended to kill Bishop. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact the Grand Island Police Department at (308) 385-5400 or Grand Island-Hall County Crime Stoppers at (308) 381-8822.
