Accident Investigation Leads To Arrest


(Grand Island, NE) - Grand Island Police officers responded to a two-vehicle accident near Husker Highway and Legacy Drive on Wednesday, December 20th at 5:37 pm. During the accident investigation, officers conducted a record check and discovered Sean Brooks had a suspended driver’s license. Brooks was issued a citation for driving during suspension and was advised officers were going to tow his vehicle. He then began grabbing items out of his vehicle. Officers observed Sean remove his center console, grab a small item from under the center console, and place it in his front left pocket. Officers confronted Brooks about the item he removed from under the center console and placed into his pocket. Brooks denied grabbing anything and attempted to conceal the item he removed from the vehicle. Further investigation discovered he had two blue pills with "M 30" marks on the inside of a folded $2 bill. Brooks advised officers the two blue pills were fentanyl. Brooks was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and tampering with/ Physical Evidence and cited for Driving During Suspension.
